Timetable and curriculum

We make sure that there is enough time to cover the content set out in the National Curriculum and appropriate rest breaks for pupils (and staff!) through the school day.

From September 2023, the Department of Education have advised that all mainstream Primary schools should offer a 32.5 hour week. Our school day starts at 9.45am, when class registers open, to 3.15pm.

The teaching blocks that are delivered throughout the day are similar throughout the school although, allocation of subjects in the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 vary slightly according to:

  • The age and ability of pupils
  • curriculum content and structure
  • the school’s learning philosophy and approach to teaching

Typical coverage in the school week can be summarised as follows:

English (+ GPS (KS2), Phonics)

≥7hrs

Maths

≥5hrs

RE

Worship Time

1 ½ hours
