Children arrive i8n school between 8.25 and 8.45am and school finishes at 3.00pm. Registration is from 8.50am to 9.00am.
The children have a morning break from 11.00 – 11.15 a.m.
Worship time is held every day at 2.40 p.m. apart from on Fridays when we have a celebration time at 2.30 p.m, along with parents/carers in St. Batholomew’s Church. We also invite parents to our end of term celebration assembly in the church at 2.15 p.m. on the last day of term.
KS 1 children have lunch from 12.05 p.m. followed by KS2 children who start lunch at 12.20 p.m. This is followed by a playtime which ends at 1.05 p.m.
Younger children sometimes have an afternoon playtime. Reception have break times which are quite flexible.
At the beginning of the day, the side gate will be unlocked at 8.25am Parents can drop off their children at the front of the school and there will be staff on duty to deal with any queries. At the end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground to meet their children. Teachers and the Head teacher are available for brief conversations on request at the front door from 8.30am. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If you would like to talk about concerns with teachers they are available after school.
Some children are entitled to travel on the school bus. If you need to travel by car please leave enough time for your journey to ensure you can park safely and walk the short distance to school.
The 2022 schools white paper sets out a target for all mainstream maintained schools to offer a 32.5-hour week (or 6.5-hour days) from September 2023. Staff and governors are currently examining proposals to changes in the school day. This is not a statutory requirement.
